Why Puppy Train?

It is beyond dispute that every dog owner should put his or her puppy through some sort of formal training, unless they are have already had experience themselves at this task. Nearly everyone will appreciate a well behaved dog. But it is not generally known that there a several different methodologies and philosophies for the training of dogs and pups, and not all are necessarily the correct approach for puppy training.

Most people aren’t privy to the various methodologies and types of dog training. The various types of dog training are founded on the concept that dogs at different stages respond and perform differently.

Many dogs have had different stages of dog training before, while others have had none. Because of this, it is best that you know which kind of dog training your dog needs to undergo.

The first type of dog training is called, surprisingly enough, basic dog training. Dog training of this genre can be implemented for puppies or for adult dogs that have never received any other type of dog training before. This course teaches the basics to dogs such as sit, stay, and come, as well as making the dog familiar with his/her own name.

Basic dog training also focuses on socialization skills (especially where puppies are concerned). Good socialization skills teach your dog to get along with other dogs and people. For example, making a puppy understand that jumping on people is unacceptable would be classified as a social skill.

If your dog has never had any dog training, basic dog training is the place to start.

Intermediate dog training  is probably not suitable for puppies as they still need time to assimialte the basics. Intermediate dog classes are for any adult dog that has already been through a basic dog training course or that have learned the basics by an owner that is proficient at such training.

Intermediate courses generally instill the ability in dogs to heel, as well as to walk properly on a leash. There are also other training techniques that are designed for fetching and retrieval. In order to make sure that the animal has assimilated all of the basics, there will usually be a certain mount of review of the basics of the training learned up to this point, albeit in more detail.

After becoming adept at intermediate dog training, it's time to move up to Advanced dog training. Only dogs that have achieved proficiency at an intermediate dog traing course, or having a similar level of training should be allowed to move up to this level of dog training..

All of the basic and intermediate training aspects are reviewed in great detail at the beginning. As the course progresses, you’ll begin teaching your dog to follow these commands with hand signals (come, stay, sit, heel, lie down, etc.)

After having learned hand signals, the advance dog training course then focuses on getting your dog to walk beside you without a leash and for the dog to stay beside you at all times. It also teaches your dog to keep his attention on you and to avoid distractions.

This course is only for very well behaved dogs.

Of course, any of these dog training courses should always utilize positive reinforcement in the form of praise and other rewards. They should not use any negative training techniques (hitting or yelling). It is imperative that you pick a dog training course that only utilizes positive reinforcement techniques.

Make certain that you select the dog training course that is suited to your dog. With the right dog training course, your dog can be well behaved, well adjusted, and ultimately, the bond between dog and owner will become a rich experience for both, dog and owner.
